Off to Windsor for the Royal Wedding and what lovely weather for it.
The highlight?... Definitely the sausage rolls. We got there in reasonable time and managed to get a decent view although my interest was not so much the event but the people there. Events such as this are a great opportunity to see some real characters.

Taking pictures of people you don't know can be very difficult and it's important to get out there and take lots to build confidence and improve ability. A total stranger giving you their time puts you under pressure as ideally you capture what you wanted and let them get on with their day.
In my experience 99.9% of people you ask are very friendly and have no problem with it, in fact, you'd think a subject might close up when exposed to a lens but many seem to be in their element. It's a difficult balance to achieve depending on what you're going for. If you're going for capturing the character of the subject very naturally then a candid shot might suit best. Communication with the subject is key whatever you're going for and in time you'll know what to say to get what you need.
