Three months since I really had a chance to shoot anything I am over the moon to present this roll of film. It's likely been 10 years since I last shot a reel of black and white film.

I was in college are the time studying traditional photography techniques including both shooting and developing.

We used to develop all our own film reels and  expose all our own prints with an enlarger.

Eventually - with help from my family - we'd set up a darkroom in the basement of our home. I remember climbing down a wooden ladder into the room and the amazing atmosphere. First the smell of the chemicals then the methodically laid out work surface. Then you turn out the lights and the immense darkness required to develop film reels is just incredible.

ilford pan 100

and a new camera

my pick

This portrait of my nephew, now 4 and a half, really captures a part of his personality. I don't know where he's picked up this super cool - chilled out pose but it wasn't me. I can only dream of being such a cool dude.

I love the lighting that the Ilford PAN 100 captured. I'm very surprised that a 100 ISO film could capture light so well in such dim lighting conditions. I will definately be shooting Ilford PAN 100 film again very soon.
