If there's one thing for sure, it's that for most of us - getting out in the green is a very rare occasion. I work a desk job like most people do these days and I can tell you there's nothing that refreshes me more after a difficult week than escaping the city, and the surprising truth of it is that; 'it's not as difficult as you might think'...

The popular belief is that you must travel miles and be ready to spend a bit of cash to get out of the city and see real nature. There are many sources all over the internet that can show just how inaccurate that is.

Epping forest trails a perfect example of this and are just a 10 minute walk through the town from Loughton underground on the central line. Once there the trail twists and turns by ponds and small lakes. There are a couple of roads to cross but apart from these the trail in entirely forestry.

We were very lucky with the weather today as the lighting was golden in places.

You should be glad to know that there are a number of pubs at the end of the trail.

I really like this shot.

There's something about the dynamic movement of a subject that really makes an image look natural.

One thing I don't generally do is ask a subject to pose for a shot. In my opinion it can ruin a shot.

In most cases the natural movement and behaviour is what I'm trying to capture.
